Fisher FFA officers are working hard getting ready to start off the new school year! Two days of hard work making plans, discussing committees and fundraisers, team building exercises, and a quick photo shoot on day two. Welcoming in our new officer team: President- Sophia Hortin. The Fisher FFA Chapter attended the National FFA Convention in Springfield! We attended sessions, explored the career show visited Prairie Fruits Farms, Breakout Indianoplis, and Hypnotist Show with Dr. Jim Wand! Students who attended were Emma Carmien, Alexis Hallden, Hannah Hires, Sophia Hortin, Bethany Musick, and Bailey Parks.
The Fisher FFA Chapter attended the State FFA Convention in Springfield! We attended sessions, visited Abraham Lincoln's home, and had some fun mini golfing! Our reporter Bree Shook sang with the state chorus and was chosen as a finalist for National Chorus! Also, Bailey Parks submitted the chapter scrapbook into the state competition and earned a GOLD RATING! Overall, it was a very successful trip!

Ten Fisher female members attended the Women Changing the Face of Agriculture Conference at Illinois State University. The theme for the conference was "The FarmHer in Us All". The conference focused on career development for females in agriculture and farming.

In celebration of National FFA Week, the Fisher FFA invited Fisher Grade School over for a petting zoo and some Ag in the Classroom activities focusing on Soybean production! It was a great day with a lot of fun!

Fisher FFA kicked off 2016 CDE's with success! Sophia Hortin brought home 1st place JV prepared speech, and Bethany Musick brought home 2nd place Creed speech at the Public Speaking CDE! Great job ladies! They will be competing at the District Competition in April!

FFA "Drive in Movie night" was held in the Ag shop. The movie "ELF" was appropriately Christmas themed. Members had a blast watching the movie, eating snacks, and celebrating the holiday season!

Members volunteered at the annual Christmas Senior Citizens Lunch sponsored by Amvets! It was a great way to serve the community at Christmas!

Poinsettia Sales were held in the Ag Shop! The sale was successful, selling nearly all the inventory!

A few of our upperclassmen spent a fun day with the Champaign County Farm Bureau! Farm Bureau sent them on a tour of Cargill in Bloomington and then they took part in a hands on farm safety demonstration! Thanks Farm Bureau!

5 Fisher FFA members had the privilege of experiencing National FFA Convention in Louisville Kentucky. These members were the top 5 most active members since last national convention. They enjoyed several general sessions, the career show, a rodeo, and a concert by Maddie & Tae and Jake Owen.

Section 17 Leadership Training School was hosted by the Section 17 Officers at Allerton Park 4-H camp in Monticello. All officers and greenhands were invited to attend the event where they enjoyed various leadership sessions and socialized with members from other schools
